Sightseeing in Manhattan by C. Lesbirel
3.0

It took me about a third of the book to really get into it, but overall this was a pretty sweet story. I like that the two main characters were able to see past their issues in what I felt was a realistic way. Really their back stories were pretty original and I liked that I felt like I was reading different characters compared to many other books. It was a very quick read. One of the main issues I had with it was something I always have an issue with, and that is when the author doesn’t use contractions and it makes it sound wrong, makes lines that characters say sound stilted and it doesn’t roll through my head as I read smoothly. Other than that, as I said, the characters were really good, the friends and family completed the story as well. I do wish maybe we’d had a few more that we knew from other stories possibly show up, but it was okay without them. And I also really like how the title is a perfect play into the story and our main character.
