I liked everything about this book, but what made me love it is the characters and their relationships. Every character was complicated, even side characters and antagonists. The main characters really stood out to me as fully formed people, especially Nathaniel. I loved reading about his journey of discovering himself and what he really wants outside of what other people are telling him he's supposed to want or feel. I also loved reading about him discovering words that fit his experience with his sexuality. I really wish I could have read this or a book like this in high school. It would have meant everything to me at that point in my life and I know it will mean a lot teenagers like the one I was that read it.
