The bit about him looking for serious love doesn't actually seem to be a focus of the book at all.  It's mostly around the MC's biases and stereotypes regarding city folk and country folk.  It's otherwise a pretty standard, fluff, contemporary story.  The highlight of the book though was the ML's fear of bugs and just how far he would go to avoid them.
