Beyond the Veil by Susanne Valenti, Caroline Peckham

4.0

I know a lot of people didn’t like this and felt it was unnecessary but I enjoyed it.

I’ve always been one who is sad when people die before a war is over because they die not knowing whether they won in the end and it was nice to get to see a different POV.

Did we really learn anything new? No, not really. But I love the characters and the additional context. I don’t believe this was a necessary book but I’m someone who genuinely would just read a book about characters I enjoy just living a normal life. I also found it comforting because I knew what happened at the end.

I did not do the tandem read because I didn’t realize there was one but I feel this would have worked really well if I’d done that!
