"Forgetting is dangerous. Forgetting is how the monsters come back."
This book took me completely off guard in the best possible way. I didn’t know much about it going in, and honestly that made it an even wilder experience. So I won’t say much plot wise here, but I’ll say that it was eerie and surreal and unexpected. But it was also deeply thought provoking and heart achingly beautiful. It was also a story about a trans girl, and the girl was just trans, and that was it? I love stories about trans coming of age journeys, but having stories where being trans is just normal is really important too. My soul felt very nurtured, and I highly recommend this book! I also listened to this on audio, which I recommend, as the narrator did a phenomenal job.
