Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
4.0

First let me just say I love Charlie. The character growth he goes through during the entire novel is more than most people go through in their entire lives. I like that it shows his flaws and weaknesses and then him overcoming them. I like that the relationships he has with his friends, co-workers, doctors is so genuine and real (flaws & all). The ending of the story had me tearing up. But Charlie made sure his (& Algernon's) legacy will live on. It was very interesting how much he remembered of his life the smarter he got. It's interesting that when he was "dumb" he viewed life through a child's innocence and didn't remember all the bad things people had done to him. This is definitely a classic that people should read.
