this was almost as entertaining and fun as the first book.

almost because in this installment there was a lot of focus on things happening and only afterwards giving an explanation and reasoning  to why it as it did.

it was a lot of telling and a bit too little showing and while sometimes that works… i can’t say i loved it in this book because it felt very heavy handed with it.

i also didn’t love the constant reminder of a character from the first book or pretty constant mention of dina’s parents.
i get why both of those things were written as they were on this book but again it felt a bit
too heavy handed and too much as if the reader needs to be told something over and over again to understand what’s happening or get a bit of a too long explanation about why something is going on as it is as if the reader is not capable of understanding by the mentions alone.
or maybe i was a little too picky with that.
could be.

i also wish the big plot twist would have been not as predictable? especially in a book that tried too hard to seem like nothing can be predicted and everything needs to be explained.

beside those things the book was good.

i enjoyed it form the most part.

i liked learning more about the world and the characters, the inn and how all that works.
it was interesting to get more snippets and small pieces of information to build up to a better understanding of how it all functions.

the writing was mostly well done and the characters where pretty great.

it was a fun entertaining adventures quick read and while i do think it doesn’t pack quiet the pinch as the first book did, it still was a good read overall and i am interested to see where this series will go from there.

i so hope that in the next book we get a few different plot points that kept reappearing in this that where already a bit too noticeable in the first book but kept repeating in this one too and i would like to not have the exact same things happen a third time please.
not as heavy handed police present for no other reason than that the officer dislikes dina or thinks she’s up to something. we had that twice now, let’s move in even if i get that it is an easy plot element of the unknowing human who needs to be kept away from the supernatural/other worldly  stuff happening. it’s been done now. let’s try something a bit different.

also sean.
let’s just… i don’t mind a slow burn but can we either have the characters actually there together a d getting to know each other to make it a bit more realistic than someone pining after someone after one quick kiss before a big battle and maybe two nice conversations before since everyone single interaction before that wasn’t nice or romantic.

and lastly the parent thing.
either give me actual info of how and why and what or don’t mention it twice in every chapter again please?
thank you.
