A Man Called Ove
by Fredrik Backman
The book follows our main character names Ove, who is a grumpy old man. At first you find Ove annoying, but more and more through the story you grow to understand him and realize he's not bad after all. Ove likes routine and consistency. He doesn't like change or adapting to the modern world. When he had new neighbors move in, they challenge that routine. You see Ove transform as he accidentally forms a friendship with his neighbors.
This book made me cry as you read flashbacks and see sadness in his past and happiness when he meets and falls in love with his wife. I love Fredrik Backman's writing style and how he takes his time establishing the characters.
This was my second Fredrik Backman novel and this one did not disappoint either.
