A Princess for Christmas by Jenny Holiday
5.0

A Christmas Hallmark themed romance story? HELL YEAH. I can’t begin to explain just how excited I was to read this book after reading the premise. I am a huge sucker for Hallmark Christmas movies, and this sounded right up my alley ( in fact one of my favorite hallmark movies is called A Princess for Christmas starring Katie McGrath and Sam Heughan)! The story is about a guy named Leo who one day picks up princess Marie due to his sister’s insistence, and thus begins their adventure into a holiday romance. Leo and Marie both have great chemistry and I enjoyed reading from both of their perspectives, especially as they’re assumptions of each other changed and they began to fall in love. Throw in an adorable sister, an impending royal marriage, a distant father, and many christmas shenanigans, and what we have is some royal christmas fun! Marie was a charming and strong protagonist who is struggling with her royal duties and the anniversary of the death of her mother. Leo is a gallant but a bit gruff love interest, who, after digging a bit has the softest heart and is so sweet and gentle with his sister. Leo is struggling to make sure his little sister has the best childhood while also trying to make ends meet and dealing with the grief of his parents deaths and a sudden new princess dropped into his lap that offers him a payday of a lifetime to just drive her around, all the while he finds himself falling for her. The characters are enjoyable and complex, both dealing with lots of heavy and tragic aspects in their lives, while slowly opening up to one another, but faced with the giant obstacle that is not only status but if either of them is ready to fully fall in love. I absolutely enjoyed this holiday read and definitely got the Hallmark Christmas movie warmth from this story. I loved the way it wrapped up and honestly would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a sweet holiday romance!
