I think of that scene in the second season of the it crowd where Matt berrys character is trying to guess the twist in the opening credits of a Tarantino movie while shouting things like “he’s his own father.” That’s me. That’s me reading this book and others like it. The build up was slow…I want to say the first forty percent of this book which gave me time to make all kinds of out there guesses in my attempt to guess the twist. while I didn’t guess that the doctor wasn’t the doctor, I am giving myself partial points for guessing Amy hallucinations wanted her to kill everyone. once the pace picked up in the final half of this book each chapter ended with a new cliffhanger. This was the first book I read by the author and while I enjoyed it, I more enjoy thrillers that don’t have such a drawn out opening. After all the twist is never going to be that he’s his own father.
