A Perilous Undertaking
by Deanna Raybourn
Very excited that I picked this series up. After really enjoying book 1, I ordered book 2 immediately. Personally, I enjoyed book 2 even more than the 1st. My biggest qualms about first books is sometimes how slow they move to get to the meat and potatoes of the plot. This one jumped in with two feet.
Not only did I love the case, the characters just are written so well. Every. Single. One. The chemistry between our two main characters, Veronica and Stoker, is perfect. And every supporting character has a place. Raybourn is a master at weaving in the mystery with the historical elements. She gives me enough historical and science background when needed, but keeps the mystery plowing forward!
The paperback for book 3 comes out in February, so I am going to wait til then to order it since I have the others in paperback as well!
