Requiem
by Lauren Oliver
I really enjoyed the first 95% of this book...and then it just abruptly ends. WTF?! Although there is hope that things will be alright, nothing is concrete...it felt like the author wasn't sure how to finish the book and instead decided to leave it open.
An epilogue would've done this book wonders. There were just too many unanswered questions. Do they ever fully win against the government? What happens after the war is over? What happens to the individual characters?
And as much as I enjoyed the action and the pace of Requiem, there wasn't enough of Alex and Lena for my liking. The first book pulls you in and does its best to convince you that these two have a love so strong and intense that they would risk their LIVES for it...and then all we get in the third book is like three scenes where they even talk to each other. And in two of those they aren't getting along. It was frustrating.
That's what takes it from an almost four star book down to three stars, which stinks, because I really really REALLY wanted to love this book.
