The Hypnotist

I think overall this is a good book however there is a multitude of flaws. The main problem I had was Jack's characterisation in the first half of the book, with they way he was written he just didnt feel real as a character. While Lilybelle's character description was cartoonish I could still envision her as a real person whereas Jack felt like concept and a parody of an Irish man. Jack's characterisation did however improve halfway and the plot picked up pace from that point onwards .I think the sections relating to the KKK and Erwin's backstory were incredibly well written I just wish the book could have carried that writing style and pace throughout. Well I still believe this is a good book I don't think I'd read it again as the getting through the first half felt like a chore.
