King of Scars
by Leigh Bardugo
Rating-5/5 Stars
When Leigh Bardugo announced she was going to do a series on Nikolai, I got super excited. At the time of the announcement I was reading the Shadow and Bone series and was in love with Nikolai’s character. So, I knew this would be good.
For full disclosure I still need to read Ruin and Rising and Crooked Kingdom, so I got small little spoilers throughout this book, but nothing too bad. Anyone really can read this book and not be lost.
King of Scars takes place 3 years after the events in Ruin and Rising. This book is told in a few different point of views, which I liked because by the end of the book everything was connected and set up for the next book.
This book was beautifully written and just amazing. It was heart breaking, exciting, and learning to redeem yourself. I really loved Nina’s point of view since she was dealing with a lot and was struggling. There was a ton of growth in these characters and I’m so excited to see where Leigh Bardugo takes the next book. Plus, the ending was oh my freaking gosh! If you read it, you know what I mean.
