I was a bit disappointed about how the actual process of painting was told. It was all about colours but nothing of what the painter feels when he paints or does he think anything. Also the characters didn't become whole which probably was the idea but still they didn't intrigue me. However, the story was well put together and the subtlety of the writing made the reading worthwhile.
