A cute beginning chapter books. Will keep fans of the picture books and the readers going with Fancy Nancy. It is both a good thing and a slight hindrance that there isn't a lot of background about Nancy in the book. For example she uses lots of "fancy" words which I think is good because you are introducing readers to a larger vocabulary but it can be kind of confusing because it is never explained that Nancy likes thing "fancy".
