how do i even describe this book?
it's a book about a labyrinth that is labyrinthine itself. Most of the book you are alongside Piranesi as he goes about his life within the House (the alternate-type of word wherein the House is the world) that captures the energies of the Real World and houses them in this vast castle of what-was.
It was thrilling, frustrating and wonderful. I loved Piranesi with all my heart and I only wanted him to find the truth. The world that Clarke has created is one that I want to go back to - and I kind of wish we were given more in terms of the length of the book.
This book also gave me slight dark academia vibe (if you have read the book, you'll know why).
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I will be recommending this to all my friends.
Honestly, if you enjoyed The Secret History by Donna Tartt or even Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo, I think you'll like this.
