A Knife and a Blade by Adelaide Blaike
3.0

Unfortunately not for me.

Non-stop sexual harassment that doesn't read as 'MC is dark', so much as 'MC is a total dick'. Other MC is wrestling with his sexuality for the entire book, but [minor spoiler] there's no change by the end. Unchallenged, impact-free sexual assaults and (non-MC) on-page
r*pe
.

Nothing happens plot-wise -- and while I love that in a cosy read, or book with extensive character development, this is neither. World-building is thin (Spanish and Russian are used as "fantasy" languages. Odd choice!) Frustrating overall.

Stick to Captive Prince, or consider Carol Berg's Rai-Kirah trilogy for a "power imbalance leading to deep character growth" done thoughtfully. (Bromance, not MLM, but still.)
