This is the second book I have read in the series as part of the @tandemcollectiveuk readalong and I definitely hope book three arrives soon as I need to know what happens!⁣

So let’s start with the fact that I felt like the first half was very similar to the first book in the way that it was mainly build up for what was to come. I do think we could have got there quicker. I missed the banter between Freyer and Lucian and it really didn’t feel like Tamlin was even really there in the book despite being mentioned several times. I found that a bit odd considering how heavily focused the first book had been on him.⁣

I did really like that we got to learn more about Rhysand character, I already liked him in #acotar as I could see there was more to him, he reminds me of the Damien character from vampire diary’s. The change in Freyer also made a welcome surprise as I was getting a bit fed up of her whiny damsel in distressness in book one! ⁣

Overall I enjoyed it and can see why there is so much hype around this series, I’m looking forward to book three.⁣

This series does have issues such as toxic masculinity and so would be good to be mindful of this when reading. ⁣
