The Great Alone
by Kristin Hannah
I was excited for this because I loved "The Nightingale." I did really like the Alaska setting, the secondary characters and the main character, Leni. However, I couldn't keep reading all the physical abuse. I read novels for entertainment, and this left me feeling sick.
I stopped at the end of the 1975 section, which is about a third of the way through . This was a book club selection so I'll be satisfied with a wrap up from others who did finish it. At 440 pages, I just can't spend more time reading this.
