Sorcery of Thorns
by Margaret Rogerson
4-4.5/5 for me, maybe a guilty pleasure but I'll be honest with myself and just round up to 5.
I had a lot of fun with this book. I didn't expect it, but I'm really happy to have read this. Elisabeth is a great main character, Nathaniel is good too, I wasn't very happy with the potential romance in here, but it warmed into me very soon. From one of the characters it feels a little insta-lovey if you really think about it, but this doesn't just go into a romance, but it's more of the yearning and slowly noticing your own feelings.
The magic of the world was really good, especially the grimoires and the demons. I really liked the Libraries and how books were treated, especially by Elisabeth. I think any book lover will like that aspect of the story. As a standalone it shines and I thank it stays that way.
Very fun, would recommend. Also, Silas best character.
I'm so SO HAPPY that the ending teased Silas return. I'd give 20 years of my life for my boi. The final plan was really well placed, since even after Silas first resummoning, it is not until Elisabeth received the map that it clicked to me. Of course, I didn't guess about Archon, but that made the rest of the plan really good. K best friend too. I liked the characters and that is not often in me.
