I really wanted to love this one and had such high expectations and maybe that’s why it fell short for me.
For a mystery, the pace just didn’t seem right. There was so much character building it took up about 65% of the book.
The characters were great and I enjoyed reading each of their perspectives but it was a lot of POVs to grapple with and keep track of.
The next 30% was all action and I loved it, it was fast paced and everything I expected the rest of the book to be.
The ending, I have to say I didn’t expect and didn’t anticipate, so it was nice that I didn’t guess that. However, it felt like it all wrapped up far too conveniently and far too quickly. I really would have like a bigger ending and more after thought.
