The Trade by Meghan Quinn
5.0

Okay, once again I began a book laughing out loud and loving it, and then toward the end crying real tears streaming down my face! I mean it was so sad in parts that I had to stop reading as I was getting my pedicure so that I wouldn’t be crying in the middle of the nail salon! This book reminded me again that I haven’t read the second book in this series of standalones, the one about Cory’s sister, so I need to go back and do that. There’s so much about this book. It sucked me in right away, had me laughing, wanting Cory to find the right girl, yet at times Natalie did things that annoyed me. And then other times she did things that I totally got because I’d feel the same way. We’d met Natalie before in Jason’s book, The Lineup. Jason is her brother. So it was nice to have the connection that way, it also meant we got a lot more of Jason, who still is going to be my favorite of all the guys so far.

But Cory, wow, the emotional parts of this book were just so heartbreaking! As wonderfully happy as they ended up, Quinn put me totally through the ringer with what our two main characters went through. Especially Cory in my book. As much as I get how upset what he did made Natalie, she did also do what he asked her not to do, and that did cause more of a problem.

I love all these characters that Quinn creates and I plan to continue to devour every one of her books that I can. If you haven’t read any yet, you need to get out there and get started!
