Royal Assassin
by Robin Hobb
This series. This author.
Man, oh man. Oof.
This is the first time I've re-read it in over a decade and, if anything, I love it even more now than I did the first time.
But ohmyGOSH, is this a painful series to get through. Robin Hobb is so, so good at finding just the right thing to say. And it probably doesn't help that I feel as strongly as I do for all these characters.
They're so well-written, so vivid, so raw.
I'd complain about how I'm unable to do literally anything else but read these, but who am I kidding? I absolutely love being sucked in to this world.
And I can't stress enough how rare it is for me to sit down with a book I've read before and still find it captivating, original, and heartbreaking.
On to book 3. Bring on the pain.
