Once again Griffin pulls the reader into a world outside their own! In this stand alone novel with follow Tana as she has to decide if she will follow the chosen path that lays in front of her (expected of her from her family and coven) or if she will follow her heart and become the witch she is destined to be! Tana has always know she was to marry the Governor's son, from the mainland,  Landon, who is a nice enough individual but doesn't make her feel alive. Tana does not feel sparks when she thinks of or even interacts with Landon. But then comes Wolfe, another witch who suddenly appears in her life from a different coven -- who by all rights shouldn't exist - -at least not as far as Tana has been taught.  Tana must decide if she will play it safe in order to help her coven secure a relationship with the mainland and thus secure their safety or if she will risk it all for a chance to truly feel alive alongside Wolfe and his coven!
