This is the story of Lillian Boxfish, an advertising aficionado who has lived in New York since the 1930’s. The story is told in alternate chapters of the past and New Year 1984.
When I first starting reading this I was a little unsure if I was going to like it but after about 25 pages I felt I found the flow and really started to enjoy it. I loved the look at the past New York and seeing it develop through a career driven woman’s eyes. I also loved the slow, descriptive walk around the city on the New Year’s Eve of 1984.
