I'm annoyed that I didn't read this as a kid. Girl who rather be a knight than what's expected of her in a "traditional" female role? This would have been perfect for 10-year old me. Alas, I am older now. Yet, I still enjoyed this title and will be reading the other books in the series as well as other titles by Tamora Pierce. Great story and a quick read. Fantastic!
