The Secret Roommate by Sara Ney
5.0

Once again Sara Ney has given me a wonderfully funny and cute and fun rom-com to fall in love with! And she’s also left us with some new characters that we might want their stories as well. Duke’s brothers anyone?

It’s fun reading about characters on a dating app after following the author’s own experiences over the past few years. It makes me wonder how much of what was real she might have thrown into the date/f-boy that Posey ended up with in this story. And oh, Duke, gotta love Duke. He was definitely so annoying at first. And his chapter came off as a total a-hole like Molly had told Posey. But really, he was a good guy. I mean of course, we want our hero to be a good guy, right? The descriptions of his accent throughout the story made me think this would be a fun audiobook if you got the right male narrator with a perfect Texas accent.

But just like the rest of this series, there wasn’t the drama for drama’s sake that bugs me so many times. Even the things that were misunderstandings were figured out in a reasonable, realistic way, that made the story just perfect for me. The steamy scenes were hot, and it was definitely an interesting way to not do the usual condom check but still kind of give a head tip to that. Although I have to think with him being worried about women wanting him for what he could give them that he might have been a little more careful with that? Maybe he just trusted her enough and knew deep down that if something did happen, it would be what he wanted.

I loved Posey too. While it wasn’t a huge age gap, I was happy to see a little bit older woman story here. Oh yeah, and I am totally with Posey too about cringing at the word panties. That has always been a cringe word for me. Along with moist. The third word she said bothered her I don’t remember, because I’ve not heard that one complained about before. The jokes the two played on each other, their banter, arguments, all of it was a blast! Another fun sweet steamy romance from Sara Ney.
