I struggled a touch with this book. It felt like there was so much unexplained that I struggled to understand what was happening and how one thing related to another. I also struggled to figure out how one person related to another.
I also found it quite slow. I felt like it didn’t pick up until 60% and by the time I was really invested, it was over.
I like Shazi. She’s a great, feisty, strong female character.
Khalid has my heart as well.
Jalal is also a favourite and I wished there was more of him.
This book does end in a cliffhanger, so I am going to need the second one, but I hope it doesn’t suffer from this one’s faults.
