The One Man: The Riveting and Intense Bestselling WWII Thriller
by Andrew Gross
I have read many WWII/ holocaust stories but none that kept me on the edge of my seat like The One Man did. Nathan Blum, who escaped from Poland, and now has a desk job with the US army intelligence division bravely agrees to break into Auschwitz to try and bring back with him Alfred Mendl, a scientist whose knowledge could help the allies win the war. Nathan knows from the beginning that this is probably a suicide mission but it is a way for him to help assuage the guilt he feels for escaping when his entire family was killed. There are so many horrors, so many ups and downs, so many twists and turns and a narrative that goes at such break neck speed that you will want to stop and take a break from reading so you can absorb it all, but you won’t be able to put it down once you start. Andrew Gross has truly poured all of his heart into this fabulous historical thriller.
