There are some pretty big issues with this book, despite me rating it 5 stars.
The biggest one, is despite the page count of almost 700 pages. The second half of this book felt rushed. It was as if the author had a story in her mind, but desperately didn't want to turn it into a series so she just.. kept skipping.

Some of this time jumping isn't that big of a deal, but some of the skips are.. serious. For example the FMC goes from being on the verge of throwing off her 2nd mate out of the relationship because he's keeping stuff from her, and no matter how much she tells him he has to tell her stuff he doesn't. It felt serious, like he was being real stubborn. And then.. skip. And they're all lovey dovey with no information, no event, no nothing. So did he relent? did he change? or did she just accept that this man who despite would die for her is just not going to trust her capable of handling whatever information hes keeping from her?

Same with the third, who was my favorite of them all, he barely got any screen time. And here you went from him not knowing where his spot is, and she having no feelings for him, to suddenly all happily having threesomes and shit.

And that really sucks, but it's still one of the better reverse harems I've read. But I desperately wish it was a 3-book series where the 2nd and 3rd dude got a lot more screentime.

So what is good? Well the book made me laugh out loud multiple times, which is always a big win. There is also a lot of story here. There are multiple story arcs (which would have been perfect for a series, really!). You have the prison planet, the escape from the prison planet, settling on an alien planet, getting to know said alien culture and world, there is pirates and betrayal and big alien kings. There is getting rescued, and being the rescuee

I also read the entire thing in one evening and cursed myself when I was awake at 6AM. So.. I loved it.
