" I hope you are pleased with yourselves. We could all have been killed - or worse, expelled! "

This book is the first installment in the Harry Potter series, and revolves around a not-so-ordinary boy Harry Potter, who gets rescued by a giant of a man, enrolls at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, learns to play Quidditch and does a battle in a deadly duel. All because he just found out he is a wizard!

I am almost two decades late to read the Harry potter series. I admit. BUT, Even after such a long time, the Fandom is bigger than ever! And i have thousands of HP lovers ready to murder me for what I am going to say.

This book was not the one of my most favorite books I have ever read. It had amazing plot-line, really interesting and wonderful fictional world, to-die-for characters. But there were places in the book , I wish was different. I watched the movies first before reading the books. I would say it has helped me imagine the world different and right. But I personally feel that the chapters were short and abrupt, and could have been better with a little more details and explanation. While reading the book, it felt more like a script to the movie rather than a stand-alone as a book. I am definitely not disappointed with the book by any means. It just wasn't the absolute best reading experience for me!. Maybe next book in the series, when I read it, I will go into it with a different mindset - No comparing it with the movie, and not expecting a certain scene to happen.

But nonetheless, Hermoine and Nevil are two of my favorites from this book. And I really enjoyed the quirkiness and her sassy comebacks! Harry is just adorable with his no-knowledge brain and Ron with his goofiness. Overall I think I had a pretty good 1st Harry Potter reading experience! And I am really hoping to give the rest of the books a fair chance and to be a part of HP fandom as well!

I need not recommend this book to you guys, BUT if you are like me, and haven't started with this series, PICK THIS UP!.
