It's ok, I guess. I didn't really like it, but also didn't dislike it. So, I'm going with that: it's ok.
A pretty fast and easy read, usually my favorite type of books. Short chapters, not super complicated words, except the ones the main character also doesn't understand.
But... it just didn't feel special? Or... I don't know. It felt very meh. Or, like I said, ok.
The time jumps aren't obvious. It feels like this book takes place in like a week, but apparently there are some time jumps here and there, without the author telling the reader.
I feel like the title and blurb are a bit misleading. They made me believe that Sebastian would be her love interest. The title is something he's referred to in the book. And the blurb also mentions him and calls him gorgeous.
The story isn't boring - that's not what I meant with it feeling meh or ok. It has promise and does keep me reading. But... it's a bit messy, and very frustrating. In the middle the author suddenly introduces a fake dating plot. And damn, I would've punched some of these characters. Eleanor and the Queen? I would've walked out with my middle fingers up and walked on the next plane back home.
Daisy is changing her whole life for her sister, who doesn't even acknowledge how much she ruined Daisy's life. Sure, you can't choose who you fall in love with, even if that happens to be a prince. But damn, how does she not notice that her little sister had to give up so much so she could like her princess dream? And then instead of acknowledging it or saying thank you, she's so mean to Daisy. Not obvious mean, but that vague, subtle way. Maybe she doesn't mean to and just doesn't realize how self centered she is. And then accuses Daisy to be self centered when she thinks of herself for once. And then only at the end, she apologizes.
Sorry, but that frustration didn't help this book. It took away some of my joy.
And don't get me started on the fact that Daisy gets blamed for Sebastian's actions. Multiple times. He just gets away with it and she has to live with consequences.
The romance was cute, I have to admit that. I don't often like couples as much as Miles and Daisy.
