I think I enjoyed this book a little more than some of its predecessors. It has its faults, but I think it’s slightly better out together.
That said, it was overly info dumpy at the start. And in the flip side, our introduction to Summer was sparse. I would’ve liked to have seen more.
I also felt the Sydney chapters with Lily were weird. The religious aspect that made its way through wasn’t my favourite either.
The same with Nana Russo’s mojo. I would’ve preferred that stay abstract.
But, the good thing here was there wasn’t a ton of storyline’s running through this story. It made it easier to follow what was happening, and the central relationship to breathe.
Still, I get the feeling there’s a hurry to end this series. I’d like to see a little more thought, and perhaps time put into this.
