A great historical fiction based on a true person, Bella da Costa Greene, who lived as a white person working as the personal librarian of JP Morgan.
The story gave a glimpse of Bella's life as white and how it impacted her. It broke my heart that she has to severed her relationship with her dad because he was fighting for Black rights. Her constant living in fear of being found out and never developing relationships sounds so lonely.
