Humor Me
by Cat Shook
I do think that this book did match parts of the blurb where it talks about Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld because it really does give off similar aspects of plot and vibes. It's very much in the vein of friendships and late-night comedy. I love late-night comedy, so I loved those aspects being shown. It had a slight romance subplot which I loved a lot due to my need for something less romancey but still having some romance in it. I did think that the portrayals of comics and the culture of comedy were accurate to an extent. I do love shows like Saturday Night Live and this fictional show definitely gave off similar vibes which I enjoyed thoroughly. This book did not have enough romance subplots for me, I needed to see the romance more and less meddling mom/boss situation, it got too messy and family drama sometimes for me, otherwise it was great.
