I first saw Loveless on a giant display in Barnes & Noble. I picked it up immediately. I love any book about aromantic and asexual characters. I didn’t even make the connection that the author is the same one who wrote Heartstopper and Radio Silence. I didn’t even care that it it was a YA/New Adult book. I just really wanted to read it.
Then I started reading and the MC, Georgia, was an obsessive romantic and a bit of me died inside. But I kept going, because the writing was good and I knew that it had aro/ace rep. I honestly could not put the book down. The writing is great and the characters were all well developed.
Loveless is a book ultimately about finding yourself and your community. I was much older than the 18 year old figures in this book when I realized I was Aromantic, but I had some of the same internal struggle. It was the first time I had seen it written out.
Also, I really enjoy the artwork in the book dividers, which I am sure the author also created.
