Ms. Marvel, Vol. 3: Crushed by G. Willow Wilson
4.0

This volume is really reminiscent of the Kamala we met in Volume 1. We see more of the teenage girl coming into her own as an inhuman superhero. My love for the Kamala-Bruno dynamic has really intensified. And Wilson really knows her audience; she's including rhetoric that a younger generation can subtly ingest while those of us with experience ("friend zones," rape culture) can readily recognize the important messages she's instilling in young people. The only reason I gave this 4/5 stars is heavily reliant on the odd, semi-out of place final issue in the volume. It's a S.H.I.E.L.D./Ms. Marvel crossover and it seems to disrupt Kamala's story in order to promote another series. Overall, still a fantastic series.
