DNF at 10%. This book was super cringeworthy in my opinion. The writing didn’t feel young adult, but more juvenile or middle grade. Then, on almost every page the author makes references that Kane is gay. Okay, got it and that’s totally fine, but that takes away from what is going on. Mentioning that he is gay is not progressing the story and more than it should and doesn’t make anything happen. It’s great there is diversity with the main character, but I don’t think there should be gay jokes as well. With the plot line I really don’t feel like it was moving and nothing was progressing. It could have if I read more, but the writing was cringeworthy to me.
