An Abundance of Katherines
by John Green
DID NOT FINISH: 15%
I apparently have a mixed relationship with John Green.
Like many, my first exposure to JG was A Fault in Our Stars. Fabulous. Fantastic. Heartbreaking.
Paper Towns was not good.
Turtles all the way Down was well done.
Looking for Alaska was fine.
This one/ I have tried twice and honestly, I hate everything about it. I like how Colin's parents seem to just let him go on this trip to nowhere. How Hassan's parents are against it, but he is 19 and he has to ask to go. I feel the characters are tools. I will not be attempting this book again nor will I loan it to anyone.
I also think the word fugger is horrible. Just call someone what you actually want to call them. For teenage boys who are mature enough to go on a road trip with 10k in their pockets, they would be able to swear like adults.
