With a groan he crushed her to him, burying his hand in her hair, his mouth pressed to her temple. “God, I love you too, sunflower.”

This book is a great example of how my taste in books has changed quite a bit over the last couple years. This one was one of my favorite books and I reread it quite often. I still enjoyed it a lot, but not a solid 5 star like it was previously. It’s a very sweet small-town romance with a really entertaining suspenseful plot, which is exactly my what I want from my books lol. I’m also such a sucker for an age gap and a main character in law enforcement. Older sheriff MMC and the sweet girl next door? Really works for me.

He shook his head. “So that’s how old you are? Twenty-five?” “Twenty-six now.” She raised her head to look at him, staring up into those impossibly blue eyes. “How old are you?” “Thirty-eight.” His eyes danced with humor. “Too old for you?” She laughed softly. “No.” “Good.”
