Thirteen Reasons Why
by Jay Asher
I really enjoyed Thirteen Reasons Why. The novel tugged on your emotions and it really helped you understand teenage suicide. The main character is Clay, a seemingly good kid who spends his weekends studying and never gets in trouble. Hannah Baker is a girl who commits suicide, but just before makes 7 tapes with the thirteen reasons why she killed her self. The novel takes you into Hannah's world and shows just how cruel high school students can be. By listening to the tapes, Clay begins to understand what happened to Hannah and wonders, "What if I had done something different?"
