Stud Muffin
by Jiffy Kate
Well, let me tell you that the food in this one, all these muffin recipes with wild names sounded so good I found my mouth watering as I read. I just know that I want nothing more than to try so many of them! Dark chocolate with nuts, salted caramel, so many intriguing and original sounding muffins! I loved being in the Donner Bakery again, even if we didn't have a ton of interaction with any of the main characters from the Winston Brothers series, other than Jennifer, Cletus's wife. Can I tell you that I actually kind of wished maybe I could move to Green Valley, like Cage, and start over? Maybe I could find my own Winston brother?
I totally got Tempest's anger. I felt like punching so may people in this story for her! I like that she was able to channel that anger not only with the anger management class she got assigned, but also the kickboxing with Cage. What a perfect way to have these two characters' lives intersect. I really enjoyed the story a lot, twist after twist, and I was laughing at the last little twist that Tempest found in the box of papers she needed to go through from moving out of the house. It was awesome that Asher kind of got what he deserved. The only issue I had with this story was one that you've probably heard me complain about before, it had to do with her reasons to keep pushing Cage away at the end. I hate those reasons in stories, because I think they're unrealistic, even if I get that they are there for the dramatic effect. I just have to make sure I don't fall back on them in the story I'm writing right now!
