Midnight Sun
by Stephenie Meyer
I was so hyped for this book! In excitement, I did a rewatch of the movies which I haven't seen in years. I'm not a re-reader typically, so that's why I did re-read the books. In hindsight, refamiliarizing myself with the plot of Twilight may not have been the best idea.
Midnight Sun started out strong, but my oh my was I bored by the half way part. Why is this book soooooooooooo long? And why are Edward's thoughts so excessive? It was painful and unenjoyable to finish past 60% percent. While I did appreciate getting to see the story from Edward's perspective, the book just didn't need to be so long and so repetitive. I don't know if Stephenie Meyer plans to continue the whole series from Edward's perspective. If she does, I likely won't read it, or if I do, I'll pray that the books aren't that lengthy.
I am glad that I tag-teamed my read of the physical book with the audio. The audio was decent and it helped me get through the book at an even pace. So thank goodness for that!
