An action packed story with magic, slow burn, political intrigue, and the trainer -trainee trope? Sign me up. I loved Tisaanyah, she was an absolute badass with such resilience and a lovely personality. Max was a delight, and I thought the action in this was exciting and easy to follow. The world building felt complex while still being simple and thorough. My only issue that for the first 25%-30% of the story realllyyyy dragged on and I wished the pacing had been a little better.
