Pride and Prejudice in Space
by Alexis Lampley
*5 Stars*
Copy kindly received for an honest review from New South Books.
I will admit - I haven't read the original Pride and Prejudice novel by Jane Austen. I have it sitting on bookshelf where it's been for a long time, and have yet to read it. My friend was also reading this new reimagined version by Alexis Lampley, so I thought that I would give it a go as well.
I was not disappointed. Not only is the hardcover version of the book absolutely gorgeous (those illustrations!), the story was wonderful too. Since I haven't read the original I don't know how closely it follows the story, but this was a great one to read. The space element with the travel and different areas of space was quite cool and Lizzie and her sisters and family were quite entertaining. My favourites were Lizzie and Jane and of course Darcy grew on me over time too.
I'd definitely recommend this book and if you can grab it, grab the hardcover version!
