Wild Love
by Elsie Silver
Wow, I really loved this. I mean, I love Elsie Silver's books, but I was a little worried because it was taking me some time to get into, but once it really started to pick up, it was just so good. I love single dad romances, I love mutual years of pining, I love small town cowboys (or billionaires in this case) and I love Ford and Rosie and Cora and Rose Hill. Although this isn't your typical "single dad" romance because he doesn't find out about her until she's twelve and only because she tracked him down after his sperm donation years later. Despite this, I REALLY like how Elsie wrote this because something about it just worked for a single dad romance, even though it was a different premise than most. I loved watching the relationship blossom between Ford and Cora, and how much they were alike. The scenes with the period were pure gold and he really came into being a father figure, while also never trying to take the place of Cora's father who raised her. I loved how Ford used his wealth for good, especially the act of helping Cora's mother, despite knowing nothing about her. Ford and Rosie were childhood friends but Ford was and is her brother's best friend but they both have had a thing for each other for years. I loved the connection to Chestnut Springs and Willa Grant (who is Ford's sister). The chemistry is palpable between Ford and Rosie, and Elsie Silver writes the CRAP out of their tension. Like, it was just so hot and good. And the SPICE. We all know she's the queen but that pen scene? OH MY GOD. Their banter made their connection just that much better and they just might be dethroning Cade and Willa as my favorite Elsie Silver couple. I seriously cannot wait for West's book next!
