Reconstructing Amelia
by Kimberly McCreight
This is a strange book to try and classify. It is half young adult (the perspective of Amelia) and half adult (the perspective of her mother). It is a thriller in that there are tons of red herrings and suspects and tension, but it is also a realistic fiction in that it is a teenager struggling to fit in and a mother struggling to come to terms with her daughter growing up. It is definitely unique and well-crafted.
