I think normalizing masks for kids is going to important going forward, as they do reduce the risks associated with the pandemic. As a parent of a young child, I think this book endeavors to do that in a really wonderful way.

I loved that there were illustrations of the various ways people have and do use masks for reasons other than Covid-19 - like welding, scuba diving, or ranching, it is presented in a really uplifting way - we wear masks to protect ourselves and others - and all the other reasons people wear masks - for fun, for art, to play.

The simple rhyming scheme will make it easy for young kids and early readers to follow along (and in some cases remember some of the lines). I love the diversity and inclusion on every page, with lovely colourful illustrations. I also liked that she included clear window masks for lip reading. It's clearly made with intention and has a solid and consistent message.
