Shadows and Surrender was an intense roller coaster ride. Ash learns many new things about being a Jezebel, her past, and her relationships. This story pushes Ash to reflect on the past and future. Why the Jezebels are fighting Chariot is also revealed in this book.

Deborah Wilde is masterful in how she develops her characters and their interactions with each other. This is part of why I can’t put this series down! Ash’s relationship with Levi is a complicated sexy mess. Their attraction for each other is so intense, but their past keeps getting in their way of becoming anything more than friends with occasional benefits. I am so excited to see what happens with them in the next book. I loved getting to learn more about the other characters in this story like Miles and Raphael. I’m addicted to this series! The story and characters are more amazing with every new book.
